kingfisher | We are still having warm weather, so I decided to take advantage and go explore a new area. I headed down to a nice area by the Platte river south of Denver. There were some very nice walking paths and also some bike paths. It was pretty quiet but should be very fun to go check out next spring. I saw the usual mallards, gadwalls and a male kingfisher. I was hoping to get him diving into the water but he just sat there... After exploring this area, I decided to stop by my favorite spot in Lakewood. It was around noon, so most of the ducks were relaxing and taking a nap. There was a flock of geese and tucked in with them was a very cute green winged teal. The last few times I've been here, a kestrel has been in the same spot. I got a decent pic of her flying.... And finally saw this gadwall taking his mid day nap. Finally we should be getting some snow this weekend. We sure need the moisture and it will be good for getting some photographs.....stay tuned! |

Love it...as usual. Never heard or saw some of the birds you photo.

Hi Alexa, You really captured some fabulous images of so many different animals. I love your owl photographs, and the fox, the eagle landing and so many others. It was nice meeting you.
